Compact and agile, mini excavators are a frequent sight on construction and demolition projects large and small. Knowing that conditions are bound to improve in this cyclical industry, however, they are continuing their product development drivers. Here is the report on the latest mini excavators.

According to industry statistics, mini excavator sales have halved from the record peak in 2007, creating tough times for manufacturers and their associated dealer networks. However, they remain confident that stability will return to the sector in the not too distant future. In order to be prepared for this, they continue to develop new products with a focus on operator safety, comfort and machine productivity while at the same time reducing owning and operating costs.

Creating a comfortable, safe and ergonomic environment for the machine operator is vital as this can lead to increased productivity.
European business director for Bobcat excavator, Kevin Zimmer, said in the last five or six years operator comfort has become much more of a focus for mini excavator manufacturers.
